Profile
Patricia Udokang
While at the University of Alberta, I majored in art in the Faculty of Education because I loved painting and I wanted to introduce young people to the joy of art and exploring their creativity. After graduating, I taught fine art in Jr. and Sr. high schools for about 10 years.
However, new and exciting adventures took me on a very different journey for the next several years. Although I was involved in other creative pursuits, both in Nigeria in the world of publishing and later in Canada as a programmer, software instructor, business analyst, process modeller and writer, I had not put a brush to canvas in about 45 years – until recently. In all that time, there were numerous moments when I yearned to paint again.
In spite of the devastating effects brought upon the world by COVID-19, it gave me the time to return to painting since the projects I was handling had been put on hold. I have enjoyed every minute spent painting, and this time, I will not let anything get in the way of that enjoyment.
Like music, painting soothes my soul.
My original paintings, as well as limited edition prints, are available for sale. Check out the Gallery and the Art Prints pages for details. If you are interested in my work, please send me a message.
