Encouraging children to explore their creative nature is so important for their overall development. These paintings and digital art are by my granddaughters, who are 8 and 13.

My granddaughters enjoy expressing their thoughts and emotions through art, story telling, poetry and music. Both girls have taken private art lessons from Vania Dimitrova, a local artist in Calgary, and of course, I coach them too. The youngest girl is fortunate that her teacher at school has the children drawing almost every day, and they frequently spend Friday mornings painting. Her sister loves creating digital art, fashion drawings and animations. She literally spends hours creating her designs, primarily on her phone.

A whole new world of art has evolved with the onset of computer technology. The possibilities for creative exploration are endless. Digital art is a relatively new art form, and it has captured the imagination of my grandchildren. I am thrilled to see them embrace it, explore its possibilities and dream of what they can accomplish.
